NEPSE index sees modest gain, trading volume reaches 8.72 billion

Kathmandu, February 12 — The stock market index showed a slight increase today.
On the fourth day of the week, Wednesday, the Nepse index rose by 1.86 points, reaching 2,685.73 points. A total of approximately 8.72 billion rupees worth of shares were traded today.
Out of the 124 companies listed, 99 saw a decline in share prices, while 11 remained stable.
Sector-wise, the development bank, finance, investment, and life insurance groups showed an increase, while other sectors declined. The most significant drop was seen in the trading group.
Notably, Guardian Micro Life Insurance saw a positive circuit, while Upkar Microfinance and Super Madi Hydropower experienced negative circuits.
In terms of trading, NRN Infrastructure led the market, followed by River Fall Hydropower, which ranked first based on trade volume.
