Kathmandu, February 9 — Six people have lost their lives in traffic accidents across various districts, including Dang, Kathmandu, and Kaski.
In Dang, a tipper truck (registration number Ra.1 Kha 1353) collided with a scooter (registration number Ra.7 Pa 911) and an auto (registration number Lu.Pra 02-001 H 0532) at Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan-4, on Saturday afternoon.
The collision resulted in the death of 42-year-old Nira Sunar, who was traveling in the auto. She passed away while receiving treatment at the Rapti Health Science Institute in Ghorahi.
Two other individuals who were injured in the accident, as well as the scooter rider, are being treated at the same hospital. The tipper and auto drivers have been taken into police custody.
In Kathmandu's Kageshwari Manohara Municipality-2, a collision between two motorcycles occurred on Saturday night on Alapot Road.
The accident involved motorcycle (registration number Ba.Pr.02.037 Pa 0903) and motorcycle (registration number Ba.71 Pa 1471), which led to the death of 21-year-old Rajan Katwal from Udaypur, Chaudandigadhi Municipality.
He succumbed to injuries while being treated at Nepal Medical College in Attarkhel. The driver of the other motorcycle has been taken into police custody.
In Saptari, a motorcycle accident occurred at Sisubari, Surunga Municipality-1, where a motorcycle (registration number Ma.Pr.01-005 Pa 0452) lost control and crashed.
The motorcyclist, 22-year-old Salam Sheikh from Lahan Municipality-5, Siraha, died in the accident.
He passed away while undergoing treatment at the Provincial Hospital in Lahan. One other person injured in the accident is also being treated at the same hospital.
In Kaski's Baidam, Pokhara Metropolitan-6, a motorcycle (registration number Ga.13 Pa 6719) lost control and crashed on Saturday night.
The two victims, 21-year-olds Saphal Ranabhat and Sujal Adhikari, both from Pokhara, passed away while receiving treatment at GMC Hospital.
Lastly, in Lalitpur's Chapagaon, Lalitpur Metropolitan-15, a pedestrian, 14-year-old Sahan Moktan from Makwanpur, was hit by a vehicle (registration number Ba.Pr.3-01-024 Ch 9155) on Sunday morning.
He died from the injuries while undergoing treatment at Patan Health Science Institute. The driver has been taken into police custody.
Police are currently investigating all the accidents.
