Two missing after falling into Bheri River in Surkhet

Surkhet, February 5 — Two individuals went missing after falling into the Bheri River while working on the construction of a suspension bridge in Surkhet.

The missing individuals have been identified as 24-year-old Anil Gharti and 18-year-old Arjun Gharti Magar, both from Sisne Rural Municipality-2, Rukum East, according to police inspector Ajay Dangi at the District Police Office, Surkhet.

The construction is taking place over the Bheri River, connecting Barahatal Rural Municipality-4 and Panchapuri Municipality-14.

The incident occurred around 1 PM on Wednesday when they fell into the river while pulling logs for the bridge construction.

Following the report of their disappearance, a police team from Babiyachaur police station reached the scene, and a search operation is currently underway to locate the missing individuals.
