NEPSE index rises by 2.41 points

Kathmandu, February 3 — The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a modest increase today.

On the second day of the week, Monday, the NEPSE index rose by 2.41 points to reach 2730.00 points.

On Monday, the market saw a total transaction worth NPR 11.87 billion.

Although the NEPSE index increased, the number of companies whose stock prices went up was relatively low.

On Monday, the stock prices of 97 companies increased, while 137 companies saw a decrease in their stock prices.

Eight companies had stable stock prices, according to NEPSE data.

Despite most companies' stock prices decreasing, the index went up, which is an unusual coincidence.

This situation is typically seen when only shares of high-market-share companies rise.

On Monday, the indices of six sectors, including finance, showed growth, while the indices of seven sectors, including life insurance, saw a decline.

Positive circuit breakers were applied to the shares of Upkar Microfinance and Bhugol Energy, while negative circuit breakers were applied to the shares of Green Development Bank and Rival Fall Hydropower.

The Hydro Power sector, with the most companies (91), saw a decline, contributing to this situation.

In terms of trading volume, NRN Infrastructure and Saptakoshi Development Bank were the leading companies.
