Residential doctors stage sit-in at Maitighar Mandala (photos)

Kathmandu, January 29 — Residential doctors pursuing postgraduate studies have taken to the streets in protest against an agreement reached between two ministers.

On Wednesday, they staged a sit-in at Maitighar Mandala in the capital.

The protest is in response to a three-point decision made between Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel and Education, Science, and Technology Minister Bidya Bhattarai regarding allowances for the doctors.

The decision has sparked a wave of protests, with the doctors starting their movement from yesterday.

The doctors have expressed that the decision represents extreme labor exploitation, and they have vowed to continue their decisive protest against it.
