National Cooperative Regulation Authority inaugurated
Kathmandu, January 27 — The National Cooperative Regulation Authority (NCRA), established in accordance with the ordinance issued by the government to amend the Cooperative Act, 2074 BS, has been inaugurated today.
Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Bala Ram Adhikari, formally inaugurated the authority's office amid a programme held today at the former National Cooperative Development Board's building in Pulchowk, Lalitpur. In the programme, Minister Adhikari had sworn in the chairperson and members of NCRA.
While addressing the programme, he said that the Authority would work with the cooperatives. In the event, the minister also promised to amend the laws and regulations that are not compatible in the cooperative sector and to resolve all the problems in the sector within two years.
He said that homework is being done to amend the Land and Survey Act to solve land related problems. Arjun Prasad Pokharel is assigned as the Chairman of the NCRA.
