Durga Prasad Amgain appointed honorary representative of FNCCI for China

Kathmandu, January 8 — Durga Prasad Amgain has been appointed as the Honorary Representative of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) for China, marking a significant milestone in Nepal-China trade relations.

The announcement was made official through a letter signed by Gokarna Raj Awasthi, the Director General of FNCCI.

The letter acknowledged Amgain's instrumental role in enhancing the economic ties between Nepal and China. His significant contributions to fostering trade relations between the two nations were specifically highlighted.

Over the years, Amgain has worked tirelessly to bridge the gap between Nepalese and Chinese businesses, helping to create valuable opportunities for collaboration and exchange.

In particular, Amgain’s efforts to bring Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to Nepal were appreciated, with his involvement in facilitating multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between the Nepalese private sector and various Chinese investors, including the Chinese Chamber of Commerce.

These agreements have opened doors for increased investment in various sectors, which is expected to boost Nepal's economy and create jobs.

With this new role, Amgain is set to continue strengthening Nepal’s economic relations with China, advocating for improved business partnerships, and facilitating growth opportunities in both nations.

The FNCCI has expressed confidence that Amgain’s expertise and experience will play a crucial role in further advancing bilateral trade and investment between Nepal and China, which remains one of Nepal's key trade partners in Asia.
