Prachanda stresses clear intentions and integrity for good governance

Kathmandu, January 3 — Former Prime Minister and Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has emphasized that for good governance to be established in the country, the political leadership's intentions and integrity must be clear.

Speaking at the handover program of the Kathmandu chapter of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists, he stated that governance cannot be built merely by discussing ideals; rather, the intentions and integrity of the leadership must be clearly visible.

"We often talk about ideals, but what truly matters is what actions are taken. In this, intentions and integrity are far more important," said Chairman Prachanda.

"Have we, as political parties and the government, sincerely committed ourselves to fighting corruption and promoting good governance? Has the Nepali society felt that from political parties and the government? This is a serious question that needs to be answered," he added.

He claimed that during his leadership of the government, he worked with honesty in favor of good governance, against corruption, for social justice, and to provide relief to the country from economic problems.

He said, "When I was in government, I spoke and acted in a certain way. Even now, outside the government, I continue to speak the same. My intentions and integrity are clear, and the people are gradually understanding that."
