Speaker Ghimire mulls suspension of Lamichhane as MP over legal charges
Kathmandu, December 23 — Amid growing concern about the status of Rabi Lamichhane’s parliamentary seat, Speaker Devaraj Ghimire is currently deliberating in his office at Singha Durbar on whether to suspend Lamichhane from his position as a Member of Parliament.
After these discussions, a decision will be made regarding the suspension, with an official announcement expected soon.
The Kaski District Court has filed charges against Lamichhane for cooperative fraud, organized crime, and money laundering.
The police had already sent this information to Speaker Devaraj Ghimire on Sunday evening.
