Kathmandu records lowest temperature of the year at 2°C

Kathmandu, December 14 — The temperature in Kathmandu has dropped to its lowest point of the year today.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the temperature in Kathmandu fell to 2°C at 8:45 AM today.

Previously, the temperature in Kathmandu was 3.1°C on Friday and 3.9°C on Thursday.

The trend of declining temperatures continues across the country, including in Kathmandu.

In Jumla, Jomsom, and Jiri, the temperatures have already reached sub-zero levels.

Today, Jumla's minimum temperature is recorded at minus 7.2°C. At 9 AM, the temperature in Pokhara was 5.6°C, while Janakpur recorded a minimum temperature of 8.6°C.

Currently, a normal effect of westerly winds is prevailing over the country, and the weather is generally clear nationwide.

However, some areas in the Terai are experiencing fog or mist, as reported by the department.
