PM Oli receives call from Bamdev: 'Resign as PM and party Chairman!'

Kathmandu, December 13 — Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has accused the leadership of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre) of being led by fraudulent, reckless, and dishonest individuals.

While addressing the National Assembly of Indigenous Women on Friday, Oli claimed that the Maoist party, particularly its leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda), has allowed such individuals to rise to prominence.

Oli stated, "From the day the Maoists emerged in this country, fake, dishonest, and corrupt people have been active. This is happening under the leadership of the Maoists, and Mr. Prachanda is responsible for this."

He further criticized the spread of misinformation and rumors, claiming that social media is being misused to create confusion.

Oli shared an incident where he received a call from party leader Bamdev Gautam, who reportedly said that the late Madan Bhandari was killed by the Congress. Oli shared that Bamdev told he had suspected this before but remained silent.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli stated that Bamdev Gautam did not recognize his voice during their phone conversation. According to Oli, Gautam pressured him to resign from both the position of Prime Minister and party chairman.

Oli said, "When I saw Bamdevji's call, I answered it as Rajesh—Oli's personal secretary. We talked, and in the end, he urged me to resign from both positions." Oli also mentioned that this conversation was posted on YouTube, and he accused Gautam of being misled by the recorded voice.

Prime Minister Oli also responded to accusations suggesting that he should resign from his position as both Prime Minister and party leader, stating that the voice recordings posted on YouTube, intended to create confusion, misrepresented the situation.

He explained that his voice was recognized, but Gautam mistakenly could not identify him.

Oli urged people not to be misled, emphasizing that although the Maoist Centre is trying to spread confusion, it cannot defeat the ruling party.

He asserted that the unity between the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML) has ensured political stability in the country, with the government progressing successfully without the earlier political chaos.

He also promised to uphold the rule of law and take action against corrupt elements in society.
