COAS Sigdel conferred honorary rank of General by Indian President
Kathmandu, December 12 — The Chief of the Nepal Army, Ashok Raj Sigdel, has been awarded the honorary 'General of Indian Army' insignia by the Indian Army.
While on a visit to India, Sigdel was presented with the insignia by the President of India, Draupadi Murmu.
On Thursday, during a ceremony held at the President's Palace, he was presented with the honorary 'General of Indian Army' insignia, as reported by the Nepal Army's Directorate of Public Relations and Information.
Nepal and India have a unique tradition of conferring the Honorary General rank to the military heads of both countries.
Chief of Army Staff Sigdel also had a courtesy meeting with India's Defense Minister, Rajnath Singh.
