COAS Sigdel off to India
Kathmandu, December 10 — Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Ashokraj Sigdel has left for India on Tuesday.
At the formal invitation of Indian Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, NA Chief Sigdel left for New Delhi, the federal capital city of India.
According to the NA Directorate of Public Relations and Information, COAS Sigdel is scheduled to make an official visit to India on December 11-14.
A nine-member delegation headed by NA Chief Sigdel also includes the Army Wives Association Chair and his spouse Neeta Kshetry Sigdel.
During the visit, the President of India is scheduled to decorate Chief Sigdel with the honorary rank of General of the Indian Army on December 12.
He is also scheduled to meet high-ranking officials of India during the visit. The visiting team, including the Chief of Army Staff, is scheduled to return home on December 15.
In the absence of Chief Sigdel, Lieutenant General Pradeep Jung KC has been assigned as the acting Chief of Army Staff.
