Prachanda calls for collective action to safeguard human rights
Kathmandu, December 10 — Former Prime Minister and Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre), Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda, has stated that increasing corruption, mismanagement, and governmental authoritarianism have posed challenges to the protection and promotion of human rights.
On the occasion of World Human Rights Day, Prachanda wrote on his social media platform Facebook on Sunday, urging everyone to unite in the face of these challenges to safeguard human rights.
"Increasing class conflicts worldwide, brutal wars and massacres imposed by the so-called powerful, the environmental impact suffered by the people of mountainous countries due to the exploitation of nature, and growing corruption, mismanagement, and governmental authoritarianism in Nepal have posed challenges to the protection and promotion of human rights," he wrote.
"In the face of these challenges, I earnestly appeal to all stakeholders to unite in the protection of human rights," Prachanda added.
