At least 5 killed in multiple road accidents across Nepal
Kathmandu, December 9 — At least five people have died in traffic accidents across the country, according to Nepal Police.
In Morang, a pedestrian named Man Bahadur Limbu, 26, from Kanepokhari Rural Municipality-2, Mainabari, was killed on Sunday afternoon after being hit by truck number Ko.1 Kha 3480 on the road near Haatkhola Bus Park in Biratnagar Metropolitan City-7. Limbu, who was severely injured, died during treatment at Koshi Hospital, Biratnagar. The truck driver has been taken into police custody.
Similarly, in Sundarharaicha Municipality-9, a scooter was hit by tipper number Na.7 Kha 3223 on Sunday night. The scooter rider, 44-year-old Yam Bahadur Raymajhi, from Pathari Shanishchare Municipality-3, died from his injuries at Nobel Hospital, Biratnagar. The tipper driver is in police custody.
In Lamjung, a tractor (Ga.1 Ta 6141) lost control and crashed on the road in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-6, Thulbesi, on Monday morning.
The helper, Megh Raj Lama, 25, from Dudhpokhari Rural Municipality-2, Bhumlichok, died at the scene. The tractor driver is currently absconding, and the police are searching for him.
In Saptari, a motorcycle collided with a parked tractor (Sa.1 Ta 5098) on the road in Shambhunath Municipality-10, Jamuwa, on Sunday night. The motorcyclist, Jitendra Bhagat, 45, from Rajpur, Shambhunath Municipality-11, died from injuries at Chhinnamasta Hospital, Rajbiraj. The tractor driver is absconding, and police are searching for him.
In Bara, a pedestrian, Bhikhari Mukhiya, 45, from Pipariya, Maulapur Municipality-7, Rautahat, was killed on Sunday night after being hit by an auto-rickshaw, whose number plate was not identified, on the road in Adarshkotwal Rural Municipality-6, Paterva. He died from injuries at the Provincial Hospital in Kalaiya. The auto driver is absconding, and police are searching for him.
The police are conducting necessary investigations regarding the accidents.
