Two killed, three injured in Bajura vehicle accident
Bajura, December 8 — One person died at the scene and another passed away while receiving treatment at the district hospital in a vehicle accident in the district's headquarters, Martadi. Three others were injured in the incident.
According to the Bajura District Police Office, the Scorpio (registration number SUPA PR 01 001 CHA 4316) crashed near the Api Hotel on the Martadi-Kolti road section while returning from a visit to Malika Temple in Badimalika Municipality-8.
At the scene, 31-year-old Gayatri Panta from Bhimdatta Municipality-17, Kanchanpur, and 39-year-old Radhika Bhatta from Bhimdatta-18, Kanchanpur, died during treatment at the hospital. Police Inspector Dilip Kumar Giri of the Bajura District Police Office confirmed the deaths.
Giri further informed that the bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem at the district hospital. Efforts are being made to transfer the injured individuals to a better-equipped hospital via helicopter for further treatment.
Seven injured in jeep accident
In another incident, a jeep crashed in the northern-eastern region of the district, in Himali Rural Municipality.
The jeep, carrying 13 passengers, was heading to Dhim village in the same rural municipality for an internet connection installation when it lost control, causing seven injuries.
The Bajura District Police Office informed that all the injured were rescued and sent to Kolti Hospital for treatment. The vehicle overturned after losing control on the road.
