US Assistant Secretary Lu scheduled to meet former PMs today
Kathmandu, December 8 — U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Donald Lu, who is on a two-day visit to Nepal, has scheduled meetings with former Prime Ministers today.
At 2 PM, he will meet with the President of Nepali Congress and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, followed by a meeting with Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) at 3 PM.
According to sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after his meeting with Prachanda, Assistant Secretary Lu is scheduled to visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square at 5 PM. Following the visit, he will return to the Dwarika's Hotel in the evening.
Tomorrow, he is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. However, a planned meeting with President Ram Chandra Poudel has been postponed due to the President's illness.
Assistant Secretary Lu arrived in Nepal at 11:30 AM on SriLankan Airlines flight UL 181. He is currently holding discussions with officials from the U.S. Embassy in Nepal at the Dwarika's Hotel, according to sources.
