Bhutan King Wangchuk in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, December 6 — Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk, who was on a visit to India, has arrived in Kathmandu.

On his way back to Bhutan, King Jigme is transiting through Nepal and is currently visiting Swayambhu and Boudhanath Stupa.

According to a police source, he is scheduled to visit Swayambhu today. After visiting Swayambhu, he will head to Boudhanath for further sightseeing.

After visiting both places, the King will return to Tribhuvan International Airport to fly back to Bhutan.

Sources have confirmed that the Nepalese government has arranged security and other services for the Bhutanese King. Following his arrival, security measures at the airport were tightened from Wednesday.

The police source also stated that there are no official meetings or engagements planned with anyone during the King’s stay in Nepal.
