President's address to the joint session of the House begins

Kathmandu– President Bidya Devi Bhandari has begun her address to the joint meeting of the House of Representatives and National Assembly. 

This is the first time that President Bhandari is addressing the joint meeting of both the house. Soon after the meeting began, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli handed over a copy of the address to President Bhandari. 

Upon arrival at the parliament premises at the International Conference Centre, Baneswar, President Bhandari was welcomed by Prime Minister Oli, Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara, National Assembly Chair Ganesh Timilsena, among others. 
Also on the occasion, a contingent of the Nepali Army presented a guard of honour to the President.
