NPL: Biratnagar Kings defeats Lumbini Lions by 2 wickets
Kirtipur, December 4 — In a nail-biting finish, Biratnagar Kings clinched a thrilling victory over Lumbini Lions by 2 wickets with just 1 ball to spare in a NPL match at Kirtipur Stadium.
Lumbini Lions posted a total of 191 at the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Rohit Paudel top-scored with 46 runs off 29 balls. Tom Moores scored 30 and Bibek Yadav scored unbeaten 19.
Biratnagar Kings chased down the target of 192, reaching 193 at the loss of 8 wickets in 19.5 overs.
Lokesh Bam's stunning 71 runs off 47 balls, including 3 fours and 6 sixes, anchored the chase.
However, Biratnagar’s innings faltered mid-way, with key batsmen like Ismat Alam and Rajesh Pulami falling cheaply.
Despite this, the team managed to secure the win in a tense finish, with Chris Sole’s unbeaten 14 off just 4 balls sealing the victory.
Durgesh Gupta and Simmonds were the standout bowlers for Lumbini. Gupta claimed 3 wickets and Simmonds had 2 wickets to his name.
