Spend more time work than meetings, says PM Oli
Kathmandu, November 21 — Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has instructed government officials to work to give a sense of real change for the people rather than just engaging in meetings, discussions and administrative hassles.
After listening to the presentation of the concerned bodies at the meeting of the Ministry-level Development Action Committee and the progress review of the first quarter of the current fiscal year of the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers today, Prime Minister Oli instructed to change the working style as well as the mindset to bring out results.
Urging the government authorities to work in a clean and transparent manner with a commitment to developing the country, Prime Minister Oli gave clear instructions to work to ensure good governance, control revenue leakage, alleviate poverty, enhance the country's image at the international level and ensure utilization of resources.
"If any law is a barrier to good governance and development, the government is ready to amend it in an expedited manner," Oli said, adding, "Our entire effort should be directed towards increasing production by utilizing our resources scientifically. We should accelerate the pace of development by using information and technology."
The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister's Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Economic Affairs Advisor Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada, Vice-Chair of National Planning Commission Prof Shivaraj Adhikari, Chief Secretary Eaknarayan Aryal, secretaries, and heads of subordinate offices.
