Minister pledges education for all

Kathmandu – Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Girirajmani Pokhrel, has assured of formulation of an act required to enforce basic rights relating to education guaranteed by the constitution within the next five months. 

During his address to a central trainers' training of All Nepal National Independent Students (ANNISU) in Bhaktapur, he pledged to ensure everyone's access to education. He was of the view of making an umbrella organisation of teachers' association by merging various wings affiliated to different political parties. 

ANNISU R President Ranjit Tamang demanded a 20 per cent budget allocation to education sector from the coming fiscal year. A total 125 participants across the country are attending the training.
