Deepak Manange arrested after being found hiding at relative's house

Kathmandu, November 12 — Gandaki Provincial Assembly member Deepak Manange has been arrested and brought to the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) in Lazimpat. He was apprehended by a team led by DSP from the CIB, from a house at Comfort Housing in Sano Bharyang, Kathmandu.

Manange was hiding at a relative’s house in Comfort Housing when he was arrested. Based on information that he had sent his mobile phone outside the Kathmandu Valley and was hiding in Kathmandu, he was apprehended.

On November 5, the Supreme Court upheld the decision made by the High Court in the attempted murder case and sentenced him to five years in prison. After the verdict, he had gone into hiding and was unreachable.

Manange had previously served two years in prison for the incident where he severed the hand of gang leader Chakre Milan with a sword. Now, he must serve the remainder of his sentence.
