Human Trafficking Case: Adhikari vows to cooperate with investigation

Morang, November 10 —  CPN-UML Koshi Province Assembly Member Lilaballav Adhikari has expressed his willingness to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.

After being taken into police custody from his residence on Friday, he said, "I am leaving to assist with the investigation. It is my duty to cooperate with the investigation. I am a law-abiding person, and supporting the law is my responsibility."

He also expressed confidence that the truth would come out through the investigation. Adhikari came under scrutiny after being implicated in a human trafficking case in Japan. He had traveled to Japan on October 30 as the Minister of Internal Affairs and Law.

At that time, it was found that he had taken unrelated individuals with him, and all of them were deported by Japan's immigration authorities. Following this incident, Adhikari resigned from his ministerial position, and the party also removed him from his responsibilities.

In connection with the human trafficking case, seven individuals, including Adhikari, have been arrested so far.
