Kathmandu, October 29 — Leaders and supporters of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) held a protest in Baluwatar on Tuesday, demanding the release of President Rabi Lamichhane, who was arrested in connection with a cooperative fraud investigation.

Gathered near a restricted area, the protesters shouted slogans against the government, claiming that Lamichhane's arrest was politically motivated. Despite carrying their party flag, many participants also displayed the national flag during the demonstration. They asserted their right to peaceful protest and opposed any police actions against them. As the protest began, police detained 33 individuals.

President Lamichhane is currently in custody at the Kaski police station. Since his arrest, the RSP has been organizing demonstrations, initially starting in Pokhara and now focusing on Kathmandu.
