Lamichhane to be presented before court today
Pokhara, October 24 — Former Home Minister and President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, is set to appear in court today on charges of embezzlement related to the Suryadarshan Cooperative.
The Kaski District Court had previously granted a six-day period for investigation while he remains in custody. As this period has concluded, Lamichhane will appear in court today for an extension of that custody.
Kaski’s Superintendent of Police, Shyam Babu Oli, informed Ratopati, "We will request an extension today for the second time; further investigative procedures are ongoing."
Lamichhane was apprehended on October 18 from Banasthali. The police are also conducting an investigation into former DIG Chhabilal Joshi, who has been arrested in connection with the same embezzlement case involving Suryadarshan Cooperative.
