RSP cadres gear up in Pokhara for possible Rabi arrest
Kathmandu, October 18 — The Rashtriya Swotantra Party (RSP) is preparing to mobilize cadres in Pokhara should party president Rabi Lamichhane be arrested. According to a high-ranking source within RSP, if Lamichhane is detained and taken to Kaski, the local party committee will be ready to stage a protest there.
The source claims that no official circular has been issued from the central office regarding this matter.
"We have not issued any circular," the leader stated. "We are receiving calls from the district indicating that activists are gathering. When the party president is arrested, supporters will naturally rally."
The leader also noted that no call has been made to cadres at the central office. "The law must be respected by everyone. If an arrest occurs, then we will decide how to proceed afterward," they added. "There is no rush at the moment. We are currently at the party office with the available leaders."
According to the leader, key figures at the central office in Bansthali include vice-presidents DP Aryal and Swarnim Wagle, as well as joint secretaries Kabindra Burlakoti and Sumana Shrestha, among other central leaders.
Previously, when rumors circulated about Rabi's potential arrest, the party had called available leaders and activists in Kathmandu to report to the central office.
