NEPSE index soars; climbs 49 points to reach 2,519.57
Kathmandu, September 25 — After three trading days, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has seen a significant increase on Wednesday. Starting at 2,473 points, the index rose by 49 points, climbing to 2,519.57 points.
Previously, on Sunday, the market had increased by 11.58 points. However, on Monday and Tuesday, the market declined by 59 points on both days. Today, the prices of 223 companies have risen, while 18 companies saw a decrease and three companies remained unchanged.
Despite the increase in the index, the total trading amount has decreased. On Wednesday, 1,24,98,000 shares of 327 companies were traded, resulting in a turnover of NPR 4.81 billion. This is a drop from the NPR 5.53 billion traded on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, five companies experienced a positive circuit. There was noticeable investor interest in sectors such as finance, hotels and tourism, and hydropower.
Among the listed sectors on NEPSE, the index for the mutual fund sub-group decreased by 0.01 percent, while all other sub-groups saw an increase.
