DPM Paudel seeks support for key infrastructure projects from China

Kathmandu, September 25 — Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel met with Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng in Beijing, the capital of China. The discussions focused on mutual interests and cooperation between the two countries.

Finance Minister Paudel urged for direct flights from various cities in China to Bhairahawa and Pokhara International Airports. During the meeting, Vice Premier He Lifeng emphasized the importance of expediting the implementation of cooperative projects in accordance with previous announcements and agreements made by the Chinese government.

He expressed China's commitment to providing further assistance to Nepal in the future. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Paudel requested support for infrastructure projects, including the Keyrong-Kathmandu Railway, Tokha-Chhahare Tunnel Road, Kimathangka-Hile, Hilsa-Surkhet-Bhurigaun Road, and the Damak Industrial Park.

Mahesh Bhattarai, spokesperson for the Ministry of Finance, who was part of the delegation, informed that the Chinese government has shown a positive response to the requests made by Nepal and has expressed commitment to moving the projects forward.
