EC calls for party registration for local by-polls

Kathmandu, September 25 — The Election Commission has called for party registration for the upcoming local level by-elections. In accordance with Article 271 of the Constitution, the commission has issued a notification regarding party registration for the by-elections scheduled for December 1.

When applying for party registration, applicants must submit their applications in the format specified in Schedule 12 of the Political Parties Regulations, 2017. The commission's notification also states that necessary documents, including party details, annual audit reports, and organizational structure, must be presented at the time of application.

Parties are required to submit their applications during office hours between September 26 and October 2, as mentioned in the notification released by the commission on Wednesday.
