Victims protest 20-meter buffer ruling
Kathmandu,September 16 — In protest against the Supreme Court's verdict requiring a 20-meter buffer for roads and riverbanks, victims from Bagmati river have staged demonstrations.
On Monday, they gathered in the Kupandol and Thapathali areas to protest what they claim is an unjust decision by the Supreme Court.
The protesters, organized into nine groups, have called for the dismissal of the standard and demanded that the court's decision not be implemented.
They accuse the decision of aiming to turn affected citizens into squatters, alleging that it violates their constitutional rights.
