NEPSE index drops by 57 points

Kathmandu, September 16 — The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell by 57 points on Monday. The market index, which started at 2,636 points, dropped to 2,580 points, leading to the suspension of trading.

Previously, on July 25, the index was at 2,568 points. After that, the market rose and reached 3,000 points on August 15. Since hitting 3,000, the market has shown signs of correction.

On Monday, a total of 31,261,000 shares from 312 companies were traded, amounting to a turnover of 7.36 billion rupees. The share prices of 227 companies decreased, while 14 companies saw an increase in their share prices, and 3 companies' prices remained stable.

Today, the share prices of companies like Atmanirbhar Microfinance, Himalayan Hydro Power Limited, and Janautthan Community Microfinance increased by approximately 10%. Conversely, companies such as Goodwill Finance, Three Star Hydropower, and Nepal Finance Limited experienced the most significant price declines.
