CPN (Maoist Center) signals positive stance for Monday’s House session
Kathmandu, September 16 — The main opposition party, CPN (Maoist Centre), appears positive about the proceedings of the House of Representatives meeting scheduled for Monday. The meeting, set for 1 PM, will feature an address by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
However, UML MP Yogesh Bhattarai's use of the term "violence" to describe the Maoist insurgency has sparked objections from the Maoists, leading them to disrupt parliamentary sessions.
Despite this, the Maoist party seems ready to allow the session to proceed today after presenting their views. Chief Whip Hitaraj Pandey has indicated that the party will not obstruct the Prime Minister's address.
"There is no agreement on not obstructing the parliament. We will raise our concerns in the House," Pandey responded briefly.
