Gokarnamani Duwadi appointed new Home Secretary

Kathmandu, September 6 — Gokarnamani Duwadi has been appointed as the new Home Secretary in the recent Cabinet meeting, according to a high-level source within the Prime Minister's office,

This change follows the previous Home Secretary, Ek Narayan Aryal, who was promoted to Chief Secretary in the August end.

Duwadi was previously with the National Statistics Office.

Interestingly, Narayan Prasad Sharma Duwadi, who works at the President's office, was also a candidate for this role.

The decision to appoint Duwadi was finalized after a delay, as Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak arrived late to the meeting where the appointment was initially supposed to be discussed. However, the decision was ultimately made based on the recommendations of both the Prime Minister and the Home Minister.
