Cooperatives fraud investigation committee deadline extended

Kathmandu, September 3 — The deadline for the Parliamentary Investigation Special Committee on Misuse of Co-operatives Saving has been extended by 15 days.

During a House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday, committee head Surya Bahadur Thapa Chhetri proposed extending the committee's procedures.

The proposal was unanimously approved, leading to the extension of the committee’s deadline.

Thapa briefed the House on the committee’s progress, noting that they had interrogated 50 individuals involved in the embezzlement of cooperative savings.

 He also mentioned that the committee had been working late into the night, including on public holidays.
