NEPSE index rises by 6.90 points to 2830

Kathmandu, September 3 — The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a general improvement today, rising by 6.90 points to reach 2830 points.

In terms of trading activity, NEPSE reported that 144,197 shares of a total of 300,599,890 shares from 328 companies were exchanged.

Among the sectors, development banks saw an increase of 1.32%, hotels and tourism grew by 0.65%, life insurance rose by 2.28%, microfinance went up by 0.36%, and non-life insurance climbed by 4.78%. Conversely, all other sector sub-indices experienced declines.

The following sectors saw reductions: banking (-0.67%), finance (-1.57%), hydropower (-0.50%), investment (-0.44%), production and processing (-0.14%), mutual funds (-0.03%), trade (-0.41%), and other groups (-0.18%).

Today, seven companies had their share prices hit the positive circuit. These included NLG Insurance Company Limited, Sindhu Development Bank Limited, Matrubhumi Microfinance Institution Limited, Green Development Bank Limited, Win Nepal Microfinance Institution Limited, Manushi Microfinance Institution Limited, and Vindhyabasini Hydropower Development Company Limited, all of which saw a 10% increase. However, the share price of Himalayan Power Partner Limited fell by 8.86%.

In terms of transaction volume, NLG Insurance Company Limited led with the highest transaction amounting to NPR 3,472,023,273. Api Power Company Limited had the highest number of shares traded, with 744,150 shares changing hands.
