Misappropriations of cooperatives fund: Deadline for parliamentary probe panel to be extended

Kathmandu, September 2 — Plan has been forwarded to extend the deadline for the parliamentary investigation special committee looking into the misappropriation of cooperative society funds.

A proposal to extend the committee's term is expected to be submitted at the House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday.

The Federal Parliament Secretariat’s published agenda for the meeting includes a proposal to modify the committee’s procedures.

According to the agenda issued by Padma Prasad Pandey, the General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Surya Thapa will propose adding to the committee’s procedural guidelines.

The committee’s term is set to expire this week, but due to the substantial amount of work still pending, an extension is being proposed. The committee has held 51 meetings so far and is currently in the process of drafting its report.
