Prez appoints Ashok Raj Sigdel as COAS

Kathmandu, August 28—President Ramchandra Paudel has appointed Ashok Raj Sigdel as the Chief of the Nepal Army.
President Paudel officially named Sigdel as the Chief of Army Staff on Wednesday.
This appointment is made under Article 267(5) of the Constitution of Nepal, according to a statement from the President's Office.
The statement notes that Sigdel, who has been serving as the acting Chief of Staff of the Nepali Army, will assume the role with effect from September 9.
