Voting for CPN (Unified Socialist) office bearers scheduled for Tuesday
Kathmandu, August 26 — Elections will be held for 18 positions within the CPN (Unified Socialist) party. After efforts to reach a consensus failed, elections for office bearers and Politburo members are now set to take place.
The Unified Socialist Party has announced the election schedule today. Voting will occur on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., and the vote counting will begin on the same day.
Previously, the Unified Socialist Party had unanimously elected Madhav Kumar Nepal as party chairman, Jhalnath Khanal as the respected leader, and Ghanshyam Bhusal as general secretary. Elections for the remaining positions will be held on Tuesday.
The party will elect one senior vice chairman, seven vice chairmen, four deputy general secretaries, and seven secretaries.
