Arzu's briefing: India supports current Congress-UML coalition

Kathmandu, August 23 - Foreign Minister and Congress Central Committee member Arzu Rana Deuba provided an update to the Central Committee about her recent visit to India. The briefing took place at the party office in Sanepa.

During her visit, Deuba met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and extended an invitation from Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for a visit to Nepal. Modi responded positively, indicating his intention to visit, though he could not confirm a specific date.

Deuba noted that while the exact timing of the visit remains uncertain, she received a favorable response from India regarding the new government formed by the two major parties in Nepal.

 She stated that the Indian side expressed a willingness to support Nepal’s development efforts and has been receptive to requests for assistance with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC).
