Gai Jatra Reimagined: LGBTQIA+ community’s parade mirrors the Pink Parade

Kathmandu, August 20 – Members of the LGBTQIA+ community organized their own Gai Jatra parade in the capital on Tuesday.

Traditionally, Gai Jatra parades are held to honor departed souls.

However, the LGBTQIA+ groups have adapted this tradition to commemorate the members of their own community who have passed away.
