Nepal’s dengue crisis: 3,755 infected, two dead amid surge

Kathmandu, August 18 - Nepal has reported 416 new cases of dengue, bringing the total number of infections to 3,755. The number of cases has increased significantly since August 12, when it was 3,339.

According to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD) under the Department of Health Services, dengue cases have been recorded since mid-January last year.

 Over this period, two deaths have been attributed to the disease.

 Dengue has spread to 74 out of 77 districts, with Tanahun reporting 715 cases.
