Revolutionary Communist Party calls TRC bill vague and unfair

Kathmandu, August 18 - The Revolutionary Communist Party, led by Mohan Baidhya alias Kiran, has voiced strong objections to five key points in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Bill.

In a statement issued by spokesperson Hemant Prakash Oli (Sudarshan), the party acknowledged the long-awaited passage of the bill in Parliament but expressed concerns over several critical aspects. The party criticized the lack of consultation with relevant stakeholders, including their own party, during the bill's drafting process.

The statement also accused the parliamentary decision-making process of being shrouded in secrecy and alleged that the bill was passed in a dubious manner. It described the bill as "abstract, vague, and circular," treating complex conflict-related issues as if they were general incidents.

The party called for the bill to be implemented judiciously and fairly and urged vigilance against what they perceive as a conspiratorial approach by the state.
