Standing committee meeting is boost to party: Chair Prachanda
Kathmandu, August 17 - Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', has said the recent standing committee meeting strengthened the party.
Chair Prachanda said it at a programme organised on the occasion of the ninth Memorial Day of Posta Bahadur Bogati at party office today.
The Chair mentioned that people used to argue that the Maoist Centre would split following the opinion put forth by the Deputy General-Secretary Janardan Sharma, but the party has become more unified after the standing committee meeting.
Leader Sharma had put forth his opinion in a written form in the standing committee meeting, which would be incorporated in the party document.
On a different note, the former Prime Minister claimed that he was ousted from the government due to his initiatives against corruption. "Many activities were carried out in relation to good governance and social justice during my premiership, which ultimately became factors to push me out of power", underlined the Maoist Chair.
Moreover, he remembered significant role of the late leader Bogati in organisation building and leadership in the party.
Born in an ordinary family, Bogati rose to political prominence. His personality and character could influence the entire nation, he mentioned.
Similarly, senior Vice-Chairperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha pointed out the need of launching cultural transformation to consolidate party organisation and revolutionize ideology.
Stating that the entire standing committee had agreed to make the party further united, Shrestha stressed that all should pay attention to make the party leadership stronger.
Bogati's role to consolidate party by reviewing the ideological differences and struggle within the party in an appropriate manner was incomparable, according to him.
Posta Bahadur Memorial Foundation Chair Barsha Man Pun clarified that the Foundation was active to transfer the late Bogati's contribution to new generation.
