Rasuwa, August 17 - The holy shrine of Gosainkunda sees a steady flow of devotees coming to bathe as part of the Janai Purnima celebration. The pilgrimage, which began on Nag Panchami, will continue through Janai Purnima, according to the Gosaikunda Area Development Committee.
Devotees are arriving from various regions, including Ramechhap, Dolakha, Kavrepalanchok, Sindhupalchok, Nawalparasi, Chitwan, Kaski, Makwanpur, Parsa, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, as well as neighboring districts such as Dhading and Nuwakot, to participate in the sacred bathing ritual.
It is widely believed that on Janai Purnima, all gods and goddesses gather at Gosainkunda. Bathing in the sacred pool is thought to bring the blessings of these deities together and fulfill one's wishes.
To ensure the safety of pilgrims, security forces including the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police are on standby to assist those experiencing health issues, such as diarrhea, respiratory problems and altitude sickness during their journey.
