Neupane and Gaire win Committee Chair roles without opposition

Kathmandu, August 15: The chairpersons for two Federal Parliament committees have been elected unopposed.

Congress MP Ishwari Devi Neupane has been chosen as the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee, while Thakur Gaire from the CPN (UML) has been elected as the Chairperson of the Monitoring and Evaluation of the Implementation of the Directive Principles, Policies and Obligations of the state Committee.

During a meeting of both committees on Thursday, senior members announced the unopposed election of Neupane and Gaire.

The newly elected chairpersons are set to be sworn in by Speaker Devraj Ghimire.
