Lingden advocates Nobel Peace Prize for Ex-King
Kathmandu, August 14: Rajendra Prasad Lingden, Chairman of the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party, has criticized the oversight in the peace agreement, noting that the then king, who played a crucial role in concluding the peace process, should have been acknowledged.
Lingden suggested that political parties should have recommended the king for the Nobel Prize in recognition of his contribution to the peace process. He emphasized that it was important to remember the king’s role and not overlook it when discussing the peace agreement.
In a House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday, Lingden argued that while focusing on the conclusion of the peace process, it is essential not to forget the past conflicts.
He pointed out that discussions should address both the resolution of conflicts and the impact on victims, rather than just the end of the process.
Lingden underscored that those who contributed to the conflict, whether directly or indirectly, should be remembered, and stressed that such conflicts should never recur.
