Sudurpaschim CM Shah set to take trust vote today

Dhangadhi, August 14: Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah is scheduled to seek a vote of confidence today. According to Chief Minister Shah's secretariat, preparations are underway for this vote in the provincial assembly meeting.

Appointed on August 10, with the backing of the CPN-UML, Congress, and the Nagarik Unmukti Party, Shah needs to secure a majority in the 53-member provincial assembly. A total of 27 seats are required to form a majority government.

The assembly consists of 18 assembly members from Congress, 11 each from the Maoist and the UML, seven from the Nagarik Unmukti Party, four from the CPN (Unified Socialist) Party, and one each from the RPP and as an independent.

It is anticipated that 18 assembly members from Congress, 11 from UML, and seven from the Nagarik Unmukti  will support Chief Minister Shah in the vote.
