Cabinet decision: Negotiation team formed for $125M ADB loan and grant

Kathmandu, August 13: The government has appointed Prakash Prasad Pokharel, who hails from Ilam, as the new General Manager of the Nepal Transit and Warehousing Company. Government spokesperson Prithvi Subba Gurung announced that this decision was made during the Council of Ministers meeting on August 12.

The meeting also formed a negotiation team led by the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Finance to discuss on behalf of the Government of Nepal for the acceptance of a $110 million concessional loan and a $15 million grant from the Asian Development Bank for irrigation projects.

Additionally, Ramesh Acharya has been appointed as the General Manager of Food Management and Trading Company. The meeting also approved Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya's visit to Bhutan from August 13 to August 16 to attend the 12th Conference of the Forum of the Election Management Bodies of South Asia.

Dr. Rewati Raman Paudel (Chitawan) has been nominated as a member of the Federal Land Use Commission under Section 14, Subsection 1 of the Land Use Act, 2076. The government has also appointed Yamuna Ghale (Chitawan), Reshma Shrestha (Kathmandu), and Jagat Bahadur Deuja to the same committee.

Furthermore, the government has approved the use of 19 acres of land in Nawarajpur Rural Municipality Ward No. 4, Siraha, for the local police office. Additionally, the cabinet has decided on the action plan for the overall improvement of the civil aviation sector, and the operation of Pokhara and Gautam Buddha airports.

The government has also accepted the resignations of Gazetted First-Class (Joint secretary) Officers Indu Bikram Joshi and Komal Prasad Dhamala.
