Air Dynasty crash: Identities of deceased Chinese nationals confirmed
Kathmandu, August 13: The identity of the deceased Chinese nationals in the Air Dynasty helicopter crash in Shivapuri, Nuwakot has been confirmed.
The identification was based on information gathered from the families of the victims and verified through dental examinations of the deceased.
Dr. Gopal Prasad Chaudhary, head of the Forensic Department at TU Teaching Hospital, confirmed that the bodies of Chinese tourists Judad Tang (male), Xi Li (male), Yiad Wu (female), and Zeming Xi (male) have been identified. "The identification was made through dental records," he said. "The bodies are with us, and the families are deciding whether to bury them here or transport them back to China."
The identification process was conducted using the Disaster Victim Identification System, which includes examining fingerprints, dental records, permanent marks on the body (such as scars and tattoos), as well as clothing and jewelry, Dr. Chaudhary explained.
The helicopter, which was en route from Kathmandu Airport to Syafrubesi in Rasuwa, crashed on Wednesday, August 7. The accident resulted in the deaths of four Chinese citizens and Captain Arun Malla.
